Following Flat Pack Productions' successful version of A Christmas Carol they return to Greenwich Playhouse with this 1960s black comedy.
Set in South London, it’s Mum’s wedding anniversary and, though Dad has been dead for years, her 3 sons are obliged to gather for the annual celebration. Two of them have something important to tell Mum and so begins an evening of lethal, verbal humiliation, bullying and bribery - resulting in moments of delicious comedy and toe curling embarrassment for the family and audience alike.
Critics' quotes from Flat Pack Productions' version of A Christmas Carol, dramatised by Brian Sibley.

"The central character in The Anniversary is dear old Mum, a woman whose possessiveness is a killer. She is thoroughly evil and glories in destroying anything that is good and kind and pure; for not being able to enjoy such feelings herself she is damned if anyone else will. And yet. like the Devil, Mum has an undeniable charm. This woman would never have been drowned as a witch; she would have been crowned Queen."
