The company was established in 2006 by Rebecca Stoddart
and David Millard to provide a platform for actors, directors, writers and designers to work together on projects that allowed all those involved to develop and extend their skills.
Our production values and expectations are high of everyone we work with, whether experienced or just beginning, and we are fully commited to putting time, effort and funding into design values for set, costumes, lighting, sound and publicity.
We value the commitment of everyone involved in a production and ensure on any profit sharing venture that, at a minimum, travel expenses are paid.
As well as
staging new adaptations and revivals we also support new
writing, and currently have a play being written for us
by published author Dixe Wills.
Our first
production was a double bill of the Steven Berkoff Plays,
Lunch and Brighton Beach Scumbags at the
Pleasance in Islington at the end of January 2007. This was followed by a new adaption of A Christmas Carol at Greenwich Playhouse in December 2007.
In addition
to staging plays, Flat Pack Productions deliver youth workshops
and work alongside teachers at student conferences. We have
recently provided 3 youth workshops including ‘Stand-Up
Comedy and Improvisation’, ‘Stage Combat’
and ‘Digital Photography and Image Manipulation’
for the Redbridge Summer Uni Programme.
Later this year will be planning and delivering role play workshops for school staff on: drug education, sex and relations education and homophobic bullying. |
